White Mountains and Castle in the Cloud Day Trip from New Hampshire

Travel to the Lakes region of NH where our first stop is Castle in the Clouds. This mountaintop estate was built in 1913-1914 high in the Ossipee Mountain. Known as Castle in the Clouds since its opening to the public in 1959, the house is an unusual example of Arts and Crafts architecture in New England, expressing that aesthetic movement’s philosophy of living in harmony with nature. We'll continue on to the Kancamaugus Highway for fall foliage viewing. Stops will be made to photograph a covered bridge, raging water and views from the summit.
